USAID commits around $250 million annually to strengthen Kenya’s health sector. A strong, well-functioning, and sustainable health system, which is capable of efficiently delivering and managing health care services, is vital to improving the health of Kenyans. USAID supports the Kenyan health sector with high-impact, evidence-based interventions.

Due to the devolution of health sector management and service delivery to 47 counties, our interventions focus on the county level, with targeted support at the national level. We work with the Government of Kenya, civil society, faith-based organizations, and the private sector on controlling the HIV/AIDS epidemic, preventing maternal and child deaths, curbing malaria and tuberculosis, strengthening health systems, and fighting infectious disease threats.
