USAID Contributes to the Improvement of Investment Legislation in Kazakhstan

Today, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through its Kazakhstan Rule of Law program organized an investment roundtable to discuss proposals for amendments and improvements to Kazakhstan’s investment legislation.  The program is implemented by the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI), in cooperation with both the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Company "KAZAKH INVEST" under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On April 18-19, The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) hosted a two-day meeting with Deputy Ministers of Energy from around Central Asia to enhance regional cooperation and strategize on the implementation of a fully functional and sustainable Central Asia regional electricity market (CAREM).

Today, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Power Central Asia Activity signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mangistau Regional Electricity Network Company (MRENC), JSC to develop a study on renewable energy (RE) grid integration. MRENC is one of Kazakhstan’s largest distribution companies, providing 90 percent of the electricity consumed by the largest oil companies in the country.

In honor of World Tuberculosis (TB) Day, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) today held an awards ceremony to recognize journalists and bloggers for their coverage of TB. The ceremony represents the culmination of a contest to foster media coverage of TB and, in turn, bring important TB information to the public. Since January 2022, 10 items have been published and submitted for the contest.
