Every day, all over the world, USAID brings peace to those who endure violence, health to those who struggle with sickness, and prosperity to those who live in poverty. It is these individuals — these uncounted thousands of lives — that are the true measure of USAID’s successes and the true face of USAID's programs.

Across Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, the 2014-2015 Ebola crisis affected hundreds of thousands of families. Husbands lost wives, children lost parents, and communities lost entire families to the deadly disease. Without investments, Albanian farmers and agribusinesses have very little chance of expanding into modern and sustainable commercial enterprises able to compete in the European market. About half of Albania's workforce is active in agriculture, and 20 percent of its economy relies on agriculture production and trade.
