USAID and the Ministries of Public Works and Housing and Health constructed and equipped Al-Bashir Emergency Hospital to provide life-saving services for 50,000 patients a month.

In 2018, USAID and the Ministries of Public Works and Housing and Health began construction of a new emergency department to serve 50,000 patients a month at Al-Bashir Hospital. The new facility is almost ten times larger than the one it replaces and it is outfitted with the state-of-the-art equipment. The new building will improve the patient experience at Jordan's largest public hospital and busiest emergency department and ensure Al-Bahir's dedicated health workers are equipped to save lives and deliver quality health services.
