INVEST Learning and Research

Speeches Shim

Driven by a core research and learning mandate, the initiative is uniquely positioned to capture, validate, and act on learning from across its global portfolio about what works in blended finance and why.

INVEST activities span 62 countries and 14 development sectors. INVEST provides a range of support across this portfolio, such as investment opportunity assessments, transaction advisory services, and structuring funds and financial instruments, including vehicles that incorporate catalytic capital. Through useful, accessible, and engaging learning products and events, INVEST shares lessons learned from this work with USAID, the Finance and Investment Network, and the broader development community.

INVEST helps build the capacity of USAID staff by equipping them with sound data and evidence on when and how market-driven approaches can be used effectively. In doing so, INVEST contributes to developing best practices in blended finance and mobilizing investment for inclusive development outcomes—a key focus of USAID’s Private Sector Engagement (PSE) Policy.
