USAID Project Development Specialist – Science, Technology, Innovation, and Partnership (DO 4) Team Leader (Post Code: A01007)

Salary starts from Rp 28,818,185 per month depending on qualifications, experience and salary history.


USAID/Indonesia is implementing its new five year country development cooperation strategy (2014- 2019), which comprises of four Development Objectives (DOs). The Mission’s fourth DO relates to achieving “Collaborative Achievement in Science, Technology, and Innovation”, with the goal of partnering with the Government of Indonesia (GOI), among other partners, to strengthen key areas in the scientific ecosystem that elevate the quality of Indonesian science, technology, and innovation and enable world-class models of producing merit-based research, using evidence to influence policymaking and encouraging development of innovative technologies to address development challenges in Indonesia.

The Science, Technology, Innovation, and Partnership Team Leader will provide leadership, strategic guidance, and oversight to the USAID/Indonesia Mission on all matters related to Collaborative Achievement in Science, Technology, and Innovation, namely, increasing quality research, improving capacity for evidence based decision making, strengthening mechanisms for use of innovative approaches in development. Duties will include: 1) serving as the principal advisor providing technical and strategic guidance to the Mission on approaches for enhancing the partnership between the Governments of Indonesia and the United States on the aforementioned priority issues, 2) ensuring technical offices are designing, implementing and monitoring their programs in a way that achieves expected results related to Science, Technology, and Innovation , and 3) developing and maintaining relationships with Ministries within the GOI as well as other stakeholders, including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations, professional associations, academic and research institutions, and the private sector on Science, Technology, and Innovation Team matters.

This position will advise on a portfolio of projects implemented under the Science, Technology and Innovation DO with an estimated annual funding of $15 - $ 25 million. The Science, Technology, and Innovation (DO 4) Team Leader will report directly to the Deputy Mission Director.
