Deputy Assistant Administrator Mark Meassick oversees IPI’s Local, Faith, and Transformative Partnerships Hub as well as the Innovation, Technology, and Research Hub.

Prior to IPI, Mr. Meassick served as the Mission Director for USAID Kenya and East Africa and before that as Mission Director for USAID Uganda. Throughout his 17 years with USAID, Mr. Meassick served in a number of other assignments overseas, including Afghanistan and Sudan.

Prior to joining USAID, Mr. Meassick started his career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Swaziland and first worked for USAID in Lesotho as a contractor to establish four satellite universities. He then worked in Latin America for 17 years, first co-founding an NGO in Nicaragua focused on capacity building in community empowerment, leadership development and gender equity, and then serving as a technical advisor for the Organization of American States at the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture supporting poverty reduction programs, community-driven development, environmental services, and agriculture in Member States throughout the Western Hemisphere.

Mr. Meassick has a BA from Wake Forest University and an MBA and MEd from the University of Massachusett-Amherst.
