It is a core American value to help those most in need.

USAID proudly works with and for disaster-affected people on behalf of the U.S. Government and the American people, helping those in the midst of crisis. In addition to saving lives, USAID works to reduce the impact of disasters and build the resilience of people, communities, countries, and systems in a way that reduces chronic vulnerability and facilitates inclusive growth. Here are some examples of how our work is making a difference.
