National Forum on Learning for Resilience and Sustainable Development

As part of the U.S. Government’s ongoing efforts to achieve greater development outcomes, USAID/Guinea Mission will host a one-day, action-oriented Learning Forum called A Resilient Guinea: National Forum on Learning for Resilience and Sustainable Development on May 14, 2018 in Conakry.

Over the past two years, USAID and its implementing partners in coordination with other donors and the host country government have invested heavily in reviving economic activity, restoring inclusive growth, and strengthening the capacities and resilience of public institutions in Guinea. Specifically, USAID has focused these investments in the four key areas: health; democracy and governance; agriculture and food security; and innovation and private sector engagement.

The Forum will convene USAID, government counterparts, beneficiaries, donors, civil society, associations, and the private sector to share lessons learned and generate concrete, actionable solutions to further the gains achieved through the Ebola Pillar II recovery programming and enhance Guinea’s sustainable development. The Forum will use interactive sessions, including discussions of the results from the Ebola Pillar II performance evaluation, that encourage participating organizations to identify actions for the Government of Guinea and its donor partners to consider.

In addition to the sessions, the event will feature a Tell Our Story Expo where USAID’s implementing partners will display information about their activities. It will also feature beneficiaries of USAID’s programs.
