Fiscal Year 2022 TB Programming with FY 2021 Funds

Tuberculosis (TB) remains one of the world’s leading infectious disease killers. While COVID-19 has been catastrophic for the world, clear data demonstrated the pandemic had a disproportionately devastating impact on the global TB response. In 2020, COVID-19’s impact, combined with the diversion of attention and resources, reversed years of progress in the fight to end TB.

With support from U.S. Congress and the American taxpayer, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is working with partner countries to help mitigate COVID-19’s impact on TB programmes, further progress on achieving the United Nations General Assembly High-Level Meeting (UNHLM) TB targets, and combating TB to create healthy, resilient, and productive citizens. The Agency is working with partners around the world to support the strategy to reach every person with TB, cure those in need of treatment, and prevent the spread of new infections and the progression to active TB disease.
