The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) focuses our maternal and child nutrition efforts in countries where there is a high burden of undernutrition and where the Rome Principles for Sustainable Global Food Security [PDF, 63KB], including country ownership and coordination, can be realized in practice. Country ownership is the most effective means to coordinate development efforts and achieve sustainable impact in improving nutrition and health and ending extreme poverty.
