USAID’s HIV/AIDS Systems and Program Sustainability work provides technical leadership and strategic direction on issues related to systems strengthening and financing of HIV/AIDS programs. Our work includes:

  • Providing technical expertise to support health finance and economics program design and implementation. By increasing partner country domestic resource mobilization and strategic investments, PEPFAR seeks to strengthen country impact, accountability and shared responsibility for coverage of prevention, care and treatment services.
  • Providing technical support to the missions in the development and implementation of best practices and innovations related to human resources for health to improve HIV/AIDS outcomes and to sustain national HIV/AIDS programs.
  • Supporting analyses, designs and implementation of private sector and total market approaches to increase access to and improve the sustainability of HIV prevention and treatment services.
  • Building the capacity of local governments and organizations (public, private and civil society) for improved, locally-led and more sustainable HIV/AIDS service delivery.
