About Us

The Bureau for Global Health is one of USAID’s pillar bureaus. It is responsible for quality control of all USAID global health programs. These programs save lives, protect people most vulnerable to disease, and promote the stability of communities and nations all the while advancing American security and prosperity. We focus our global health interventions around three strategic priorities: preventing child and maternal deaths, controlling the HIV/AIDS epidemic, and combating infectious diseases. In order to build long-term capacity and support countries in their journey to self-reliance, we also commit to strengthening their health systems.
