Freedom of Information Act Annual Report (October 1, 2007 – September 30, 2008)

In our FY2007 report, 273 pending requests were reported. In FY2008, we adopted a new FOIA automated processing system, this system reports a FY2007 pending (backlog) of 312 requests. We have extensively reviewed our migration data and cannot account for this discrepancy. We have adopted the 312 figure as our new pending requests baseline.

The FOIA requires each federal agency to submit an Annual Report to the Attorney General each year. These reports contain detailed statistics on the numbers of requests received and processed by each agency, the time taken to respond, and the outcome of each request, as well as many other vital statistics regarding the administration of the FOIA at federal departments and agencies.
