Faith and Opportunity Initiatives

Faith and Opportunity Initiatives

The Center for Faith and Opportunity Initiatives (CFOI) liaises with faith-based and community stakeholders in achieving USAID’s priority goals and is critical to the success of USAID’s mission.

We work to connect with USAID’s mission by directing relevant organizations to appropriate points-of-contact within the Agency. We offer resources to help guide groups through the partnership process, and also provide information about new partnership opportunities.

2019 Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom

USAID CFOI will join with the U.S. Department of State in presenting the 2019 Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom. The Ministerial will bring leadership from across the globe to discuss issues relating to religious freedom and identify mechanisms to combat religious persecution and discrimination and instill respect for religious liberty.

On July 17, USAID will sponsor panel discussions, breakout sessions, and other activities related to the themes of religious freedom, global development, and humanitarian assistance—including the protection of vulnerable minorities in conflict zones. USAID participation will also spotlight the contributions of faith-based organizations in global development.
