This biodiversity supports an equally impressive cultural diversity, and natural resources form the backbone of the country’s sustainable development. USAID partners with the government and people of Ecuador to protect the country’s natural heritage and mitigate the effects of climate change.
Through this partnership USAID helps to conserve lands and species; combats illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing; engages local communities and policymakers to combat conservation crimes; strengthens Indigenous groups to help protect the environment; and promotes the adoption of sustainable energy technologies in Ecuador.
