(2 MB) Annual Report 2021_Eng
This year marks 30 years of partnership between the United States and Ukraine. During that time, USAID has provided roughly $4.8 billion in assistance to help the government and people of Ukraine resist Russia’s aggression and build an independent, democratic, and prosperous society. Following Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine launched in February 2022, we increased our support to the Ukrainian government and people as they defend themselves, their country, and their future. While we have transformed our assistance to meet the needs created by Russia’s full-scale invasion, we remain committed to our long-term strategy for supporting Ukraine’s development: uprooting endemic corruption; strengthening resilience against Russia’s aggression; supporting further, people-centered democratic development; and promoting dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable economic growth. With USAID support, Ukraine achieved significant results in each of these areas in 2021, creating a strong base for the country’s post-war recovery and reconstruction.
