U.S. UNIVERSITY FEEDBACK ON IMPLEMENTATION OF USAID'S AUTOMATED DIRECTIVES SYSTEM (ADS) 252 (VISA COMPLIANCE FOR EXCHANGE VISITORS) AND ADS 253 (PARTICIPANT TRAINING AND EXCHANGES FOR CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT)

The Board for International Food and Agricultural Development (BIFAD) held a virtual public meeting on April 9, 2019 to solicit feedback from the U.S. university community on their experiences implementing the regulations that govern USAID funded Exchange Visitors and Participant Training, as per the Automated Directives System (ADS) 252 and ADS 253. The ADS contains the organization and functions of USAID, along with the policies and procedures that guide the Agency's programs and operations. The meeting included presentations by DeAndra Beck, Associate Dean for Research for International Studies and Programs at Michigan State University; Tim Dalton, Director of the Feed the Future Innovation Lab for Sorghum and Millet, and Professor, Department of Agricultural Economics at Kansas State University; Grace Lang, Higher Education Division Chief for the Bureau for Economic Growth, Education and Environment, Office of Education at USAID, and Jennifer Nupp, Supervisory Program Analyst in the Office of Private Sector Exchange in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA/EC) at the Department of State. 

The meeting took place virtually from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM EDT, with a public comment period from 4:15 PM to 4:45 PM EDT.
