These guidelines are intended to help improve the environmental performance of micro- and small enterprise (MSE) development activities supported by USAID in Africa. It has been developed for staff who work with:

business development services (BDS) providers, which offer services such as management training or marketing support to MSEs, and/or with
intermediate credit institutions (ICIs) and direct lenders that work to provide credit to MSEs.
