The incumbent of this position serves as the Deputy Assistant to the Administrator in the Democracy, Human Rights and Governance Bureau (DRG Bureau). In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for providing the executive, managerial and professional leadership required for the effective and efficient administration of the Bureau's policy and programmatic functions.
The incumbent of this position serves as the Deputy Assistant to the Administrator (DAA) for the DRG Bureau and reports directly to the Assistant to the Administrator for the Bureau. The incumbent aids in the performance of the AtA/DRG's responsibilities and duties, with specific responsibility for planning, directing, and supervising.
Has overall responsibility, as well as delegated authority, for the oversight and administration of a highly complex program with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Primarily responsible for the direction and management of large-scale operations to achieve specified goals and objectives efficiently.
Serves as the Deputy Assistant to the Administrator (AtA) of the DRG Bureau, acting for the AtA when absent, assisting with the management of those Bureau components and represents the DRG Bureau on the AtA's behalf with senior Agency staff and externally, including at the National Security Council.
Supervises the Directors of DRG Bureau offices as assigned by the AtA; provides advice and support to the AtA, represents the AtA in dealing with DRG-specific, agency-wide and interagency issues; oversees the formulation and implementation of DRG Bureau budgets.
