The Democracy Officer (DO) for Professional Development and Career Enhancement plans, develops and implements policies and programs to support USAID’s global DRG cadre of over 800 staff across a variety of staffing mechanisms in the DRG Bureau, overseas Missions, and other Operating Units (OUs) related to skills training, capacity development, and leadership on global development as related to DRG. As a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), the incumbent designs and manages implementing mechanisms in support of the DRG Bureau and global DRG cadre, and provides thought leadership on professional development and career enhancement. The DO is engaged as a Foreign Service Limited (FSL) employee and serves as a member of the DRG, Office of Management and Cadre Support (DRG/MCS), operationalized in September 2023, and reports to the MCS Office Director or their designee.
