Development Data Library (DDL)

Geospatial Data: Draft Guidance for Submission to the DDL

The rapid proliferation of cell phone technology with geospatial capability has greatly enhanced the ability to gather information on international development programs. However, this is still a relatively new tool in our data gathering arsenal, and there is no universally accepted standard for presenting geospatial data. USAID is accepting public comment on a proposed standard for submitting geographic data to the Development Data Library. Comments will be accepted through February 28, 2017. Please submit your comments to opendata@usaid.gov. View the document here.

About

The Development Data Library (DDL) is USAID’s public repository of Agency-funded, machine readable data. The DDL is part of USAID’s commitment to evidence-based programming and rigorous evaluation.  In October 2014, USAID announced its first ever open data policy, Automated Directives System (ADS) 579 – USAID Development Data.
