The Territories of Life activity strengthens the capacity of indigenous organizations and traditional authorities in the Amazon Basin to govern their territories. This activity runs from April 2020-March 2023.

The Scaling Up Renewable Energy Activity (SURE) works with the Government of Colombia (GOC) to diversify energy generation.  SURE helps create competitive energy markets and reduce energy costs by developing transparent power procurement policies.  The activity also builds institutional capacities to integrate renewable energy into the power grid, and promotes private sector engagement to produce affordable, renewable electricity. SURE runs from December 2017 – December 2021.

The Paramos and Forests activity helps the Government of Colombia (GOC) meet its landscape-based climate change mitigation goals and strengthens local economic development. This activity is implemented in 35 municipalities and runs from March 2018-March 2023.

The U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory Partnership (NREL), implemented through a partnership between USAID and the U.S. National Renewable Energy Laboratory, advances renewable energy systems in Colombia.  NREL provides policy, planning, modelling, and deployment support to energy entities within the Government of Colombia (GOC) to address renewable energy challenges in the country.  NREL’s current support to Colombia runs from January 2018 to June 2022.

Natural Wealth works with the Government of Colombia (GOC) to preserve biodiversity in the tropical dry forests on the Caribbean and in the grasslands and freshwater ecosystems in Orinoquia.  This activity is being executed in the departments of Bolívar, Casanare, Cesar, La Guajira, Sucre and Vichada and it runs from March 2017 – March 2022.
