Press Release

Samarkand, Uzbekistan, October 24, 2022 – USAID's Future Growth Initiative and the StrategEast Center for a New Economy co-hosted the Fourth Annual StrategEast State and IT Eurasian Forum on October 24, 2022. Participants discussed inclusive digitalization in Central Asia, startup investments and acceleration, and e-governance across the region.

Representatives of international and local technology companies, government agencies, international financial institutions, and development agencies discussed strategies for enhancing the innovative economy across the region and support Eurasian countries with their integration into the global economy.

Addressing forum participants, Steven Hoffman, Chairman and CEO of global innovation hub Founders Space, noted that "Uzbekistan is on the cusp of a major change, as digitization sweeps the world. With a young, entrepreneurial population, there's tremendous potential for growth and innovation as digital transformation erases national boundaries and opens up global markets."

The outcomes of the forum will include proposals for strengthening dialogue between governments and the IT industry in the region.

The StrategEast State and IT Eurasian Forum is an annual event, held in one of the Eurasian cities, that serves as a unique platform for dialogue between governments and leaders of the IT industry. In 2021, the Forum was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
