Administrator Samantha Power Travels to Lebanon November 8-10, 2022

Administrator Power is traveling to Lebanon from November 8-10 to participate in discussions with government officials and the Lebanese people about the country’s economic crisis and growing food insecurity. During her trip, the Administrator will engage with Lebanese government and business leaders to press for the urgent reforms and policies needed to address the crisis. She will also meet with Lebanese who are most affected by the crisis and hear directly from them about how USAID can help. In addition, Administrator Power will meet with Syrian refugees and Lebanese host communities to convey the United States’ continued commitment to supporting them.

Administrator Power will also visit USAID projects incorporating renewable energy, giving her first-hand insight into USAID’s efforts to address the impacts of climate change in advance of her travel to Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt for the Conference of Parties (COP) 27.
