Throughout 2022, the United States met some of the world’s toughest challenges with democratic leadership and American generosity. USAID responded to crises and natural disasters in 64 countries, from the severe floods in Pakistan to unprecedented drought in the Horn of Africa. We have supported the vast needs of Ukrainians suffering from Putin’s war, continued vaccinating the world, and invested more in combating the climate crisis.
Through strong partnerships, we empowered women and girls to share their voice, promoted economic growth that can pull families out of poverty, and ultimately lead to transformative changes and improve everyday lives. Under Administrator Power’s leadership, USAID also made strides to prioritize progress over programs, catalyze locally led change, and foster a diverse workforce that better reflects the American people.

2022: Power of Partnerships: Building progress for a more peaceful and prosperous world
While a key mission of USAID is to partner with communities to forge a path to self-sufficiency, this kind of progress — incremental, sometimes with setbacks, but ultimately sustainable — cannot happen alone. Our work over the past year highlights the power of partnerships big and small.
