Alan L. Davis, a senior foreign service officer, was sworn in as USAID representative to Cyprus in July 2008. He has been with USAID since 1980 and has served in Washington, DC, Peru, the Philippines, and Egypt in a wide array of technical and supervisory positions. From 2004 to 2008, he served on a detail as the director of the Humanitarian Information Unit within the State Department’s Bureau for Intelligence and Research.
He has an M.S. in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces of the National Defense University, and a B.A. in political science from Boston University.
