Catherine Moore began her assignment as Deputy Mission Director for the bilateral program of USAID Southern Africa in July 2009. 

Initially working for USAID in Washington, Ms. Moore decided to become a foreign service officer as a result of her involvement in USAID’s reconstruction program in Bosnia-Herzegovina following the Dayton Peace Accords.  She served in Ukraine 1998-2000, Hungary 2001-2002, Pakistan 2002-2005, Iraq 2005-2007 and Egypt 2007-2009.    

Ms. Moore joined USAID in 1992 after transferring from the U.S. Naval Regional Contracting Center in London, UK.  She has a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and is married to Tim Moore, a fellow foreign service officer with USAID.
