Status of the Leland Initiative in Mali

	Policy Review (Objective 1): Two MOUs have been signed, August 96 and November 97.
	Technical Review (Objective 2): Equipment Installed and Gateway Operational. Five Commercial ISPs Have Been Connected.
	Internet Applications Review (Objective 3): Internet training for Mission partners completed as well as a Training of Internet Trainers conducted. The Mission has been actively assisting its partners to become connected to the Internet and utilize the Internet as a tool for development. For examples of connectivity assistance, please see an excerpt of the first Information and Communications report or the first Decentralization report from Mali. Leland and the USAID/Mali Mission will support Bamako 2000 Conference to be held in February, 2000.
