Status of the Leland Initiative in Ethiopia

	Policy Review (Objective 1): Survey completed.
	Technical Review (Objective 2): Survey completed. Plan of Action presented to the Government of Ethiopia.
	Internet Applications Review (Objective 3): Survey completed. Internet training was provided by Leland to 70 Ethiopian organizations and institutions in September 97. A February 98 follow-up visit showed that of the 19 organizations interviewed, 18 have "connected to the Internet and are using it successfully ... The group overwhelmingly stated the training they were given gave the basis for establishing Internet within their organizations." Read the Full Report or the Executive Summary. Miscellaneous Comments: Leland will concentrate its efforts on Internet Development Applications as we do not have a technical assistance program with the ETA
