AfricaLink Home Mission
AfricaLink facilitates effective African networking -- the regular and routine sharing of information.
Scope
AfricaLink is an activity of the division within USAID in Washington that supports regional networks of African policy makers and scientists in agriculture, natural resource management, and the environment. AfricaLink works in close collaboration with USAID bilateral and regional missions in Africa.
Strategy
AfricaLink focuses on the problem of access for members of specific, organized networks. AfricaLink assistance to network members is coordinated through formal network leadership and furnished through local and regional service providers in Africa, largely in the private sector. Problems of infrastructure development are generally addressed by other programs within USAID, especially the Leland Initiative.
