Evaluation Highlights are eight-page summaries of key issues, findings, and programmatic implications of CDIE studies targeted for USAID audiences.
Impact Evaluations summarize the findings from field evaluations of project performance and impact.
Program and Operations Assessment Reports synthesize the findings and conclusions of the technical reports or impact evaluations produced in the course of an assessment.
Special Studies examine evaluation findings of special programs, sectors, or cross-cutting themes.
Program Evaluation Reports synthesize findings and lessons from an impact evaluation series within a program area.
A new series is Program Monitoring and Evaluation Tips, four-page guides to program evaluation methods for managing-for-results.
Program Design and Evaluation Methodology Reports provide guidance on program design, monitoring, and evaluation methods, program performance indicators, and data collection techniques.
Innovative Development Approaches are 4- to 12-page descriptions of new development approaches and their implications for USAID programming.
Discussion Papers cover issues or review the literature on a topic, usually prior to the initiation of field studies.
Occasional Papers are informal papers that examine selected topics in evaluation and international development.
Technical Reports are in-depth field-based studies designed for a limited technical audience. An interdisciplinary team examines project impacts and contributing factors of USAID-funded projects in areas of priority interest to USAID to prepare these reports.
The CDIE Evaluation Publications List is arranged by general subject category following Agency goals (e.g., Economic Growth) and type of report (e.g., Special Study) within each category or subcategory. Each document has an identification number (e.g., PN-AAL-045) and is available in paper copy and on microfiche. Recent documents (those published in 1995 and later) are available electronically on the internal CDIE home page (http://www.usaid.gov, then click CDIE Online) and, without charts and graphs, on the USAID gopher (gopher.info.usaid.gov).
