Assistance to Internally Displaced Persons Policy
A study found that women
in Mali do not have access to radio and consequently do not hear important messages
or receive notification of vaccination campaigns, for example. USAID/Mali's WING (Women
in Governance) program distributed wind-up radios to women's associations to address
this issue of information access. This woman was chosen by her peers to care for and
listen to the radio outside of group listening times, in order to keep other women
in her community informed of important messages and upcoming events.
