USAID/Paraguay and its local partner, FECOPROD, recently launched the new offices for the Inclusive Value Chains project in the city of Curuguaty, Department of Canindeyu, in Paraguay's Northern Zone.  

This area of the country suffers from the highest levels of rural poverty.  USAID and FECOPROD will work with small producer associations and cooperatives to strengthen their institutions, increase productivity, improve product commercialization and access markets, for increased income of small producers in the Northern Zone, in the departments of San Pedro, Concepcion, Amambay and Canindeyu.  

The project has a special focus on women, youth and indigenous populations. The Inclusive Value Chains project will also work closely with local governments to increase their ability to plan for and invest in promoting local development, as well as with the private sector, to leverage funding and create long term and mutually beneficial alliances.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The United States Agency for International Development and the Uruguayan International Cooperation Agency today formalized a partnership with Paraguay´s Technical Planning Secretariat to increase agriculture production, decrease poverty and strengthen public institutions in Paraguay.

Es un gran placer para mí estar aquí con todos Ustedes esta noche.

El gobierno de los Estados Unidos ha apoyado este premio por varios años.  Estoy muy contento de que Semillas para la Democracia continúe con esta loable iniciativa, con el apoyo del sector privado y de organizaciones de la sociedad civil.  Este es un gran ejemplo de cómo los paraguayos pueden trabajar juntos para mejorar el sistema de justicia.

El Fondo de Conservación de Bosques Tropicales (FCBT) está dedicado a promocionar y apoyar actividades destinadas a conservar, mantener y restaurar los bosques del Paraguay, particularmente aquellos situados en el área del Corredor Sur del Bosque Atlántico del Alto Paraná.
