Cambodia

Map of Cambodia and surrounding countries of Southeast Asia The Cambodia Fund Endowment

Implementing Partner: Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation

Amount: $3,750,000

Purpose: Provide continued support to three previously established, full-service rehabilitation clinics and community follow-up work generated by these clinics.

Since 1992, USAID has worked with the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation to establish and operate in Cambodia one national rehabilitative center in Kien Khleang, just outside of Phnom Penh; two regional centers in Prey Veng and Kratie; and an income generating silk-weaving project in Preah Vihear. In order to ensure the long-term sustainability of this rehabilitation program, management of the program has been transferred to a Cambodian staff. However, USAID and VVAF will continue to provide support to the three full-service rehabilitation clinics and follow-up activities generated by these clinics by means of an endowment, The Cambodia Trust Fund.
