Amount: $2,626,203

Purpose: Demonstrate effective means of sustainably improving the economic circumstances of orphans and vulnerable children an d the families and communities that care for them

Objectives:

  • Promote economic strengthening through development of the agriculture sector to increase household income and improve educational and nutritional outcomes for children
  • Leverage schools to increase the value communities place on education by:
    • introducing an agricultural business curriculum, using schools as the location to connect farmers and input suppliers, and
    • utilizing school gardens as demonstration plots for new farming techniques
