Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET)
USAID-funded FEWS NET brings together local, regional and international partners from the government, private sector and academia to provide early warning information on food security issues. For more than 20 years, FEWS NET’s professionals in Africa, Asia, Central America, the Caribbean and the United States have been monitoring and analyzing data to detect threats to livelihoods and markets. The main focus for FEWS NET is working to strengthen early warning and food security networks. To achieve this, some of FEWS NET’s activities include developing capacity, promulgating policy-useful information and building consensus around food security problems and solutions.
