Direct Distribution
Direct distribution is the process by which Food for Peace and its cooperating sponsors procure commodities from USDA and distribute them to targeted groups in need of assistance. Direct distribution is also used in specific programs, including Food for Education and Food for Work. In such cases, Title II commodities are used as an incentive for beneficiaries to build infrastructure, attend school or skills trainings, and build or restore productive assets such as wells, irrigation canals, sanitation facilities and schools.
