• International Women's Day - March 8, 2008
  To celebrate, USAID is kicking off a series of features on women whose work through USAID-supported projects are making a difference in the lives of other women, families, and communities.
  
  
• 16 Days of Activism - Eliminating Gender Violence - November 25-December 10, 2007
  Beginning on the International Day of Eliminating Violence Against Women, encompassing World AIDS Day on December 1, and ending on International Human Rights Day, 16 Days of Activism raises awareness about the violence that women and girls face in our global communities as a result of their unequal status in society and the intersection of violence and public health and development obstacles.
  
  
• International Women's Day - 03/08/07
  To commemorate International Women’s Day 2007, USAID celebrated the successes in improving women’s health worldwide.
  


• XVI International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2006) - 08/13/06 to 08/18/06
  Participants from around the globe will gather in Toronto, Canada to share the latest evidence, ideas and lessons learned in HIV/AIDS research, policies and programs.
  
  
• International Conference on AIDS and Sexuality Transmitted Infections (ICASA) - 12/05/05 to 12/09/05
  Held biennially, ICASA is organized and owned by the Society for AIDS in Africa (SAA). The 14th ICASA will be held in Abuja Nigeria.
  
  
• World AIDS Day - 12/01/05
  As World AIDS Day is observed on December 1, USAID looks back on a year of increasing efforts to fight the growing pandemic, such as a $500 million contract to distribute anti-AIDS drugs and prolong millions of lives.
  
  
• 2005 International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific - 07/1/05 to 07/5/05
  The 2005 International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP), held in Kobe, Japan, sought to increase the understanding of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and related issues in the region and to share lessons learned that are applicable to future efforts.
  
  
• HIV/AIDS Care in the Developing World: Lessons Learned and the Way Forward - 10/31/04
  The conference, organized by the Indiana University School of Medicine, brought together some of the world's foremost authorities on care and treatment of patients with HIV/AIDS.
  
  
• 2004 XV International AIDS Conference - Bangkok, Thailand
  The XV International AIDS Conference, held in Bangkok, Thailand, aimed to link community and science to galvanize the world’s response to HIV/AIDS through increased commitment, leadership and accountability.
  
  
• 2002 XIV International AIDS Conference - Barcelona, Spain
  USAID was proud to be a sponsor of the XIV International AIDS Conference in Barcelona, Spain, held on July 7-12, 2002. The theme of the conference was "Knowledge and Commitment for Action."

  This workshop was offered by the Bureau for Global Health, Office of HIV/AIDS, to introduce U.S.-based community and faith-based organizations with linkages to partners in developing countries to the possibility of working in partnership with USAID.
