Following the successful model developed in 2008, the EGAT Office of Infrastructure and Engineering has developed a workshop that will address issues concerning Infrastructure for Rebuilding and Developing Countries. The workshop will be held over 4.5 days, from December 14-18, 2009, in Washington DC. The workshop will focus on four key areas: (1) Best practices in post-conflict infrastructure development; (2) Water and sanitation; (3) Clean energy; and (4) Building effective enabling environments and institutions for infrastructure. The workshop will also cover general infrastructure development topics such as key infrastructure trends, finance, and governance in infrastructure development.

Understand key trends in infrastructure in rebuilding and developing countries;
Share information on best practices and successful models for infrastructure development and program design used by development agencies;
Understand the role of regulation, finance, governance and public participation in infrastructure;
Learn how to contact for infrastructure projects; and
Increase understanding and knowledge of ways to integrate infrastructure activities into existing programs in other sectors and Strategic Objectives (SOs), such as economic growth, democracy/governance, or agriculture projects.
The workshop is open to all USAID and USG personnel with infrastructure development responsibilities. Host country counterparts are also welcome. Please complete the online registration form below as soon as possible, and no later than Monday, November 16, 2009.
