USAID/Guinea is working to improve the economic and social well being of all Guineans in building a participatory society. The mission has targeted four interrelated sectors: natural resource management and agriculture, education, health, and democracy and governance.

USAID/Guinea’s program objectives with a gender component include: providing quality basic education to a larger percentage of Guinean children, with emphasis on girls and rural children; improving the health and welfare of women and children; controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS and promoting family planning; actively participating in sustainable farming and natural resource management; supporting democracy by strengthening civil society organizations to promote transparent good governance at the local level, and strengthening electoral practices and electoral conduct.
