Activities to improve gender equity in basic education include a U.S. Presidential Initiative granting scholarships for girls, and collaboration with coalitions to support girls’ education, equity and gender action plans.

USAID/Guinea is working throughout Guinea to build the support of key stakeholders in promoting girls education: religious leaders, women’s associations, parent-teacher associations, elected leaders, school officials and local commercial associations.
