General Information on Emphasis Area Codes
In an effort to streamline the mission's data collection and reporting efforts, as well as bring it in line with AID Washington's, the old "Activity Codes" previously used to categorize IP activities have been replaced with a subset of the USAID Emphasis Area Codes.

Proper EA coding of USAID activities is important. EA codes are used to track Congressional Earmarks and Directives, determine amounts obligated against Agency Goals and Objectives and to provide information for various Agency reports
