The project is increasing access
to family planning and reproductive health services in the Nigeria
Police community through direct support to Police facilities in Lagos,
Makurdi, Orji River, Enugu and Kaduna. These locations and its satellite
communities have large target population with high-unmet need for
family planning and reproductive health services. The project has
trained doctors and nurses in basic family planning, Post abortion
care and syndromic management. Training in project management and
natural family planning have also been conducted in addition to a
training of trainers of clinical service providers. Community -based
distribution and male motivation have been employed for the distribution
of non-prescriptive family planning commodities in the communities.
Advocacy visits have been conducted to the Inspector General of Police
to secure the support of the police hierarchy for the project. |
