Friendships Bridge Ethnic Divide

In Macedonia, people of different ethnicity live in parallel worlds. The practice of educating students in separate language spheres keeps ethnic and religious groups far apart and unknown to one another. Because this sort of distance fosters prejudice and builds distrust, USAID is building bridges with after-school activities that bring students together - students like Magdalena and Artiana who are the same age, live in the same neighborhood, walk the same route every day to and from the same school, have so much more in common, and yet.... had never met.
