Expand the production and supply of quality certified seeds by increasing the capacity of the private sector and existing seed alliances and institutions in West Africa.

Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal (main activities). Seed policy and regulations also cover Mauritania, Chad, Cape Verte, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo.

WAFP’s Goal:

Increase regional availability and use of appropriate and affordable fertilizers.

Geographic Scope:

Regional policies and regulations with country level activities in Ghana, Senegal, Mali and Liberia

International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC)

Support synergistic food-security related programming opportunities at the grassroots level.

CORAF/WECARD Objective:

Conduct, coordinate and disseminate research on agriculture practices and improved seeds to member states and national research centers.
