Yes Youth Can Nairobi has empowered youth to participate effectively in political leadership and governance, build entrepreneurial skills to engage in livelihood activities and enhance their socio-economic base.            

Where does Yes Youth Can Nairobi work?

In the 17 constituencies in Nairobi County: Westlands, Dagoreti North and South, Langata, Kibera, Roysambu, Kasarani, Ruaraka, Embakasi North, South, Central, East and West, Makadara, Kamukunji, Starehe and Nairobi Central.

Objectives

The SME Development Credit Authority facility, the first of its kind in Macedonia, provides access to working and investment capital for companies that want to expand their operations or market opportunities. The SME DCA facility is improving access to capital, which is a major obstacle to the growth of private sector SMEs in Macedonia.

Beneficiary countries:  Suriname

Objective: To support youth development and juvenile justice reform in Suriname. This will be achieved by (1) expanding opportunities for at-risk youth aged 15-24 and (2) strengthening Suriname’s juvenile justice system.

 

Grantees: The Secretariat of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States; the University of the West Indies’ Center for Resource Management and Environmental Studies; the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology; the Government of Barbados.

Beneficiary Countries: Barbados, St. Kitts & Nevis, Antigua & Barbuda, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent & the Grenadines and Grenada.

Duration:  5 years (2011-2015).

Funding to date: $2.5 million

Total Projected investment:  $20 million.

 

What is the Land and Conflict Sensitive Journalism program?

The Broadband Partnership of the Americas (BPA) is designed to improve access to broadband and the Internet and other communications technologies in the Americas. It will serve as a voluntary and flexible framework through which the governments of the Western Hemisphere, multilateral organizations, the donor community and the private sector can collaborate to increase access to broadband and the Internet across the Americas.
