23 October 2008

To acknowledge USAID support to CARE since 1986 for emergency and development programs, CARE recently organized an event to recognize the impact of USAID-funded activities.  The celebration emphasized the programs’ positive impact on poverty reduction in Nampula province.  A team from Maputo, headed by the USAID Director, attended the ceremony.  The event marked the close-out of the CARE’s VIDA Project, which included successful community-based agriculture and nutrition activities, breastfeeding promotion, food security, and income generation activities.
