Programmatic Synergy–Aligning MASP with IMPPACTS

IMPPACTS manager Christopher Brown visited Mongolia from 2-13 June, and discussed overall project activities and areas of strategic collaboration between MASP (USDA funded) and IMPPACTS (USAID funded).  The result of the visit was a more streamlined, coordinated approach with joint activities focusing on th epork and diary sectors. The true end result is a better value for tax payers through coordinated implementation of government programs.

Kicking-off Joint Activities –Group Work Potential in the Pork Sector

In the spirit of aligning activities, a pig farmer workshop was organized in UB, Darkhan and Erdenet in June. The activity focused on group work opportunities in the pork sector, which will address pork value chain challenges (MASP) and improving cooperative opportunities (IMPPACTS) while sharing the same management resources.

Economic Crisis - Highlighting Cooperative Tools as a Crisis Resource

CHF organized a workshop on “Economic crisis and coop and group development” in June. The workshop addressed how to best leverage cooperative strengths in the context of an economic crisis which has the potential to reduce external and public resources.
