Project geographic coverage: Project offices are located in Bamako and Sévaré. Project activities will take place throughout Mali, including the regions of Bamako, Sikasso, Koulikoro, Segou, Kidal, Gao and Timbuktu.
Objective: To strengthen the Malian financial services sector through integrated interventions designed to enable greater access to finance for all citizens of Mali through microfinance, commercial banks, and investment promotion.
Project key activities:
• Strengthening financial sector services for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through business education and advisory services to SMEs and financial institutions
• Developing investment promotion skills for the Government of Mali
• Increasing the accessibility of financial services to all populations throughout Mali

Objective: Increase Mali 's agricultural domestic, regional and international trade for targeted commodities.
Project key activities: (five main activities)
• Commercial policy environment
• Reinforce exporters/traders capacity to respond to import specifications
• Establish commercial alliances among actors in the supply chain
• Improve export/trade information flow
• Capacity building of public and private agricultural commercial sector

>EPIQ II (Development of Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Audit Capacity in both Public and Private Sector)
Project time line: June 01, 2005 – June 1, 2006
Project objective: Work with the Ministry of the Environment and the US EPA to increase Malian capacity to analyze environmental issues and deliver Environmental Impact Assessment (EIAs) reports.
Project key activities:
• US EPA Principles of EIA training
• ENCAP Training of Trainers and biosafety training
• ENCAP/CIAM training on cleaner production for small and medium enterprises
• Environmental management fund and point-source discharge permit system research and analysis
• Mentoring program with US EPA and Ministry of the Environment personnel
